Tomb of the Unknown Descoteaux

Philippe J. Descoteaux, died 1917, Buried in Veterans Cemetery

Fort Leavenworth, Kansas

I discovered this grave while browsing through the listings of the 25,000 soldiers buried here at Ft. Leavenworth. Unfortunately I have not been able to find this soldier's parents. The crest on the grave indicates that he served in the Spanish American War, but his date of death indicates he may have died while serving in World War I. There is a Descoteaux family that lives in Kansas, but they have no knowledge of this soldier. Any ideas?
