Some Statistics:

There are approximately 385 Descoteaux households in the United States. Assuming an average of 2.8 people per household, we can guess that there are about 1078 people in the United States with a last name of Descoteaux. Likewise there are 192 Decatos, 600 Decoteaus and 7 Decoteauxs putting the estimated number of living Descoteaux descendants of Pierre Lefevbre at about 3300.

Examining just the Descoteaux population (no analysis of Decato and Decoteaus has been done yet) they are distributed as follows:
