Most of my childhood is very sketchy to say the least. It was not a happy childhood , I do know that. I came to California in 1946 with my Dads' mother , who died a few months later, in Dec. (I was told this by my Aunt Florence). We first came to 100 W. Palmetto Court in Pasadena, and lived in Bungalow number 10 or 12 with Aunt Connie.
Aunt Florence and I than moved to 15 W. California St , APT# 2 which was over Cal-Oaks Liquor and Drug Store. My Cousin Lillian worked here as did I for a little while as a young man (about 16-17). I can remember getting into trouble here at 15 W. California by calling the Police and having an officer show up at the door and scared the devil out of me so that I never did that agian.

The priest was Joseph Napoleon HEROUX
Granddads birth was the 116th registered in the PARISH log in 1861.
I ordered a certifide copy of his birth certificate on 7 feb 1994 and paid for it with check number 3096. Cost $5.00

He died 11 MAY 1941 in HAVERHILL, MA at HALE HOSPITAL.
He was living with his son JOSEPH at 157 WASHINGTON ST, HAVERHILL.
The doctor , DR. William J Comeau stated he last saw grandpa alive at 11:30pm on 11 MAY 1941 The DR. also states that he attended grandpa from 6 MAY to 11 MAY. 11 MAY happens to be exactly 56 years (month and day) after he and grandma were married.
The reason of death was Arterioscerotic heart disease, he suffered from this for at least 10 years.
He is buried at LINWOOD CEMETARY,HAVERHILL buriel took place on 13 MAY 1941.
The family data on his death certificate was supplied by his son JOE, who also paid to have grandpa buried.
Funeral Services were held at the COMEAU FUNERAL HOME 47 BROADWAY in HAVERHILL, MA on 12 MAY 1941. The pall bearers were Edward MAGOON, Russell POST, Archie HANNON, Everett HANNON.
Committal services were conducted by Salvation Army officers.

He married Janne AUNOIS ( SOURCE : Dictionnaire National des Canadians Francais ( 1608-1760 , Tome I , Tome II , by Institute Drouin , 1996 , Montreal ).) 1646 in Trois-Rivieres, P.Q.

Notes for Pierre LEFEBVRE :
Alan D. Decato's notes states that he arrived in Trois-Rivieres in 1643. I do not know his source.

From Armand Descoteaux :

" He arrived in Trois-Rivieres , in 1642 , at 19 years old. 122 persons came from Perche , between 1640 and 1660. He gave his name to two places : Baie (bay) du Febvre and Pierreville , in our country.

In 1643 , April 11 , his name appears in archives of Trois-Rivieres (this town was founded in 1642 ) , that relate to an altercation between Sir Le Neuf and Sir Guillaume Isabel. Pierre said that he was 25 years old. In fact , he was 19. But to appear [older] (21 years old ) , he fully exaggerated , likely to make transaction with one of these two men.
In June1648 , he was captured by Indians (Iroquois) but was delivered (after a few weeks ) by an Iroquois living with white people and named Le Berger (sheherd ). In 1658 and 1660 , he became a syndic of the colony , and in 1663 , he became churchwarden. April 13 , 1663 , himself and his wife make mutuel donatio. January 20 , 1668 , they devide all their possessions between their seven children ( boys and girls ). Source : Institute Drouin."

Alan D. Decato's notes states that he arrived in Trois-Rivieres in 1643.. I do not know his source.

La famille LEFEBVRE-DESCOTEAUX est l'une des anciennes du district de TROIS-RIVIERES.
Le premier colon , Pierre LEFEBVRE , est venu s'etablir au Cap-de-la-Madeleine. De la ses descendants ont ete fonder la paroisse de La Baie-du-Febvre , sur les rives sud du lac Saint Pierre, vis-a-vis Yamachiche.
La branche d'Yamachiche vient du Cap et de la Baie.
Une tradition va a dire que les Lefebvre sont originaires du village des Coteaux , en Saintonge.
De cet endroit mene viendrait le surnom de DESCOTEAUX .
Notre ami L.-N. Carrier registrateur du comte de Levis , a visite ce village , dans un de ses recents voyages en France et il a mene emporte avec lui , une magnifique peinture donnant une tres bonne vue du villag des Coteaux , en France.
Les familles LEFEBVRE-DESCOTEAUX , LEFEBVRE-BOULANGER , LEFEBVRE-BELLEVEUILLE , LEFEBVRE-VILLEMURE ont-elles des liens de parente entr'elles ?
Ce serait , encore ici une etude fort interessante a faire pour un amateur des recherches genealogiques.

Do you know what town in Galicia your Mary Serwacki was born?
During the 1910-1917 timeframe Galicia was aligned with the
Austro-Hungarian Empire. I have not found an exit visa. Likewise,
I have not found an immigration or naturalization for 1912-1919
for a Serwacki. I have some very detailed period maps if we can
narrow town a location. "Serwacki" is pronounced "Serwatsky"
in Poland. Today, the northern half of Galicia is in southern
Poland.
My grandfather was Frank Walter Serwacki, younger brother
to Mary. Frank was born July 23, 1917 in Massachusetts and
died August 19, 1974 in Pennsylvania (buried near Cumberland,
Maryland). Frank married Rita Ann Ricard of Haverhill, Mass.
My mother is Mary "Manya" (Serwacki) Thomas (father Lyle Thomas).
Do you know anyone else researching the Serwacki family?
Who are the key historians in your family? I am the key historian
in my line. I would be glad to work with you over time to get your
portion of the family reconnected.
